Rendering is a covering that is applied to the exterior walls of a property. The material applied will differ depending on the qualities of the wall that is being rendered. Rendering your property can not only increase its kerb appeal, but also help to protect the walls beneath from weather damage.

Different types of property require different renders. For example, old properties are often rendered in lime, as it is more flexible and breathable than cement so suitable for cob or stone built properties or brick built properties with no cavity wall. Rendering can be smooth or textured, simple or intricate, depending on the desired look. Ashlar render for example, is when perfect lines are made in the render to create the look of impressive stone blockwork.

We are able to complete all different types and aspects of rendering including; cement, lime, acrylic, silicone and pebble dash. If you are completing a new build, we will do the rendering as per the specification. However, if it is an existing property, we will have to assess the construction of the wall and any issues as this will guide us on which product to use.

For further information about different types of render, the Homebuilding & Renovation website is a good resource. Don’t worry if you don’t know where to start on your rendering project, that’s what we’re here for!

The images on this page are examples of projects that we have completed. The thatched cottage we completed with a textured finish, consistent with the age of the property. The top photograph is a project in which we created a pattern on the gable end of the property to make a feature. In the middle photo, we restored the original exterior mouldings and re-rendered around the windows of a period property.
